Merchant data isn't static. Merchant Names, Locations and Merchant IDs (MIDs) can change on a regular basis. Below are just a few reasons why things sometimes change:
- Merchant changes bank
- Merchant terminal breaks down
- Merchant moves location
- Merchant is online
- Merchant uses payment facilitator
... the list goes on. 🗒 What this means is that locations could stop tracking for any of these reasons and therefore transactions could be delayed.
Fidel has therefore implemented a monthly 'refresh' process where the card schemes search for any new MIDs with already on-boarded locations. As this refresh process is mostly, transactions may take up to 30 days to clear or to appear at all.
